Roles and Responsibilities of a PCB Design Engineer:

Schematic to Layout Conversion:
Convert electrical schematics into PCB layouts using E-CAD tools such as Altium Designer or OrCAD. -
Component Placement and Routing:
Optimize component placement for performance, size, and manufacturability. Perform manual and auto-routing of signal traces. -
Design Rule Compliance:
Ensure PCB designs comply with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing design rules and standards. -
Signal and Power Integrity:
Apply knowledge of signal integrity, EMI/EMC practices, and power distribution for high-performance, noise-free designs. -
Gerber and Output Files:
Generate Gerber files, drill files, pick-and-place files, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing. -
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work with hardware engineers, mechanical designers, and production teams to ensure design intent, fit, and function. -
Design Reviews and Revisions:
Participate in design reviews and make revisions based on feedback and prototype evaluations. -
Version Control and Documentation:
Maintain proper version control, documentation, and backup of PCB projects and design files. -
Testing and Troubleshooting Support:
Assist in board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting of PCBs during development and validation phases. -
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure designs meet relevant standards (IPC, RoHS, ENEC, IEC etc.) and support documentation for certifications when needed.
Responsibilities
- Design PCB layouts, schematic diagrams
- Optimize circuit placement and routing.
- Gerber files, BOM, and assembly drawings.
- Work closely with vendors for prototype
- Schematic to Rapid prototyping.
Must Have
- Experience in PCB design, Layout, Schematic
- Knowledge of EMI-EMC-track layouting
- Gerber files,editing,Documentation
- Designing exp with Orcad/Pads/Altium etc.,
- Power Electronics components knowledge

- Generate Gerber, BOM, and manufacturing documentation for fabrication and assembly.
- Revise designs based on test feedback and product improvement needs.
- Maintain version control and design documentation for project tracking and compliance.
- Data prepration in ERP and MES
- Rapid Prototype PCB Developement.
- Components TDS verification, Assembly,Design process till verification & validation
- Track layouting, EMI-EMC,prepration Documentation, BOM etc.,
